Akiko was born in Japan and raised in the suburbs of Manhattan. After graduating high school from Perth Western Australia, she studied engineering at Worchester Polytechnic Institute in MA. Shorty after working in the engineering and IT field, she decided to pursue her passion in art. She studied rigorously under several instructors in the Los Angeles area and is currently a freelance artists for background painting, concept designs, and matte painting. She continues to take workshops to further her skills and for inspiration.
